چکیده
The definition of rigid floating piles in engineering applications remains ambiguous. This paper develops a numerical model piled embankments and the modeling method is verified through cases. Utilizing this model, critical bearing capacity foundation for firstly determined to be approximately 150 kPa. Subsequent parametric studies show that soil arching embankment begins occur when ratio height clear pile spacing H/(s − a) ≥ 1.6. However, plastic failure does not due weaker foundation, indicating cannot fully develop. Finally, factors fill properties are examined it shown large friction angle high cohesion greatly enhance reduce settlement embankment. vertical stress above subsoil decreased by 34.9% with an increase from 20° 40°. Also 1 kPa 7 reduced on top base 72% 58%, respectively. It has also been found rely end resistance skin sustain superimposed load.

15 صفحه اولExperimental and Numerical Study of Tension Bearing Capacity of Circular Skirted Foundations Resting on Sand Bed
Skirted foundations are an appropriate alternative to deep foundations in onshore and offshore structures, which have the ability to withstand uplift loads, are also easy to be installed. The tensile performance of skirted foundations on sand was studied by physical and numerical modeling. Laboratory tests were carried out on small-scale foundation models with peripheral skirts. Numerical model...
متن کاملNumerical Modeling of Seismic Response of Rigid Foundation on Soft Soil
A numerical model was developed to simulate the response of two instrumented, centrifuge model tests on soft clay and to investigate the factors that affect the seismic ground response. The centrifuge tests simulated the behavior of a rectangular building on 30 m uniform and layered soft soils. Each test model was subjected to several earthquakelike shaking events at a centrifugal acceleration ...
